Area Co-Ops

There are several co-ops in the area.  Some are for teaching and others simply  for field trips.  As of this time, though, several are in flux. One thing to note is
that some co-ops are Christian co-ops and others are not specifically religious (ie.
Classical Conversations). Before you sign up for classes with a co-op, you want
to be sure to ask if there is a statement of faith that you need to agree with to
be a part of the group, that you're okay with signing it. I will update this page
as I have more information.... **Salem Christian's Umbrella has a co-op for members of its umbrella.  If you are interested in this co-op, you could consider joining this umbrella group (and co-op) since it is not church specific for membership. **Classical Conversations now has several groups in Harford  County. Classical Conversations is a part-time teaching co-op.  You can find  out more about Classical Conversations and the group on their website. One of the groups meets at Trinity church where Mountain Road meets I-95.   A second group meets in Jarretsville at Fellowship Chapel. **Homegrown in the Forest Hill Area. See their facebook page HERE. **Hickory Co-op offers classes for middle and high schoolers in Bel Air.   See HERE for more info. **Oak Grove Baptist's umbrella formerly had a co-op that was unable to meet for  several years because of Oak Grove's building renovations. The website for the umbrella says that a co-op is in the planning stages, but is only in the planning stages. **Branch does offer classes in the White Marsh area. On the website, the group says that it is open to new members. See HERE. Branch also specifically requests  that people not talk about God (at least they did several years ago, but this may  have changed). If you want to join this group, be sure to read the membership agreement so you are aware of the group's expectations. **Heritage Christian Homeschool Co-op A group of Christian homeschoolers meets on Monday mornings in the northern Middle River area.  They offer a variety of subjects including PE, Art, and Health, along with nursery for siblings of enrolled students.  Contact heritagechristiancoopbaltimore@gmail.com for more information. **Cornerstone Community Co-op A co-op open to new members meets in Abingdon at St. Mary's Church on Wednesdays. For more information, go to their site HERE. **Catholic Schoolhouse Catholic Schoolhouse is a structured, preK through high school, academic program
in southern Harford county.  Weekly meetings include chorus, two hours of
classroom instruction, science experiments, art projects, and opportunities for
socializing after class. Middle school and high school programs coordinate well with
many curricula including MODG, Kolbe and Seton. For more information see
http://www.catholicschoolhouse.com/ or email sarafoxpeterson@gmail.com.

**Bridges Classical Community
This is a classical community that meets in Glen Arm in Baltimore County. For
more information, see their website: http://www.bridgesclassicalcommunity.com/
Their program meets for a full day on Mondays and a half day on Thursdays and
Long Green Baptist Church in Glen Arm, MD.

Co-ops nearby, but outside Harford County...

LAF Co-op meets in Shrewsbury, PA. For more information, see their website.

Tri State Christian Academy in Elkton, MD, has a website and some families
have dropped their children off for specials on Tuesdays (according to Facebook).
I would contact the school for more information if you are interested.

Christiana Homeschool Academy meets in Westminster, MD. See their
website for more information.

One other thing to note... Several private schools in the area like New Covenant
Upper School and Harford Christian will allow homeschoolers to take piecemeal
classes and not be full-time students. But, be sure to read the statement of faith
to make sure you feel comfortable living by what they ask of families who have
students attending the school.
